Bio
Fausto Giaccone è nato a San Vincenzo, in Toscana, nel 1943.
E' cresciuto e si è formato a Palermo. Nel 1965 si trasferisce a Roma dove si laurea in architettura. L'anno 1968, con l'inizio del movimento degli studenti, segna la sua scelta di dedicarsi interamente alla fotografia. Da allora è stato un fotografo free lance interessato soprattutto ai reportage sociali. Le sue prime collaborazioni sono con giornali e riviste politiche romane come L'Astrolabio, Vie Nuove, Noi Donne. In quegli anni ha lavorato spesso nel Sud Italia come fotografo documentarista: in Sicilia, Calabria, Puglia, Basilicata e Sardegna. Nella seconda metà degli anni '70 ha anche lavorato a diversi documentari televisivi in Africa e America Latina. All'inizio degli anni '80 si è trasferito a Milano e fino al 2010 ha viaggiato molto per riviste geografiche, su argomenti scelti dalle riviste o da lui stesso. Dal 1995 è rappresentato dall'agenzia Anzenberger di Vienna.

Bio
Fausto Giaccone was born in San Vincenzo, Tuscany, in 1943.
After the end of the war his family moved back to Palermo and there he grew up. In 1965 he moved to Rome where he took a university degree in Architecture. The year 1968, with the beginning of the movement of the students, marks his choice to devote himself entirely to photography. Since then he has been a free lance photographer concerned above all to social reportages. His first collaborations are with Roman political newspapers and magazines as L'Astrolabio, Vie Nuove, Noi Donne. In those years he has often worked in the South of Italy as a documentary photographer: in Sicily, Calabria, Puglia, Basilicata and Sardinia. In the second half of the '70s he has also worked on several television documentaries in Africa and Latin America. At the beginning of the Eighties he has moved to Milan and till 2010 he has traveled a lot for travel magazines, on subjects chosen either by the magazines or by himself. Since 1995 is represented by the Anzenberger agency in Vienna.
